Starboard Heat Exchanger Descaled - 30thSept/1st Oct 2024

Managed to get back to the boat to service the starboard heat exchanger, proved a little tougher to clean than the Port Side. Had to resort to TIG welding rod stick to push through the blocked channels once dislodge they cleaned through after another hours circulating Rydlyme through the system. New seals and pencil anode and the job was done.

Pipes rigged up all flowing well
This one was a bit more tricky

Descaled Port Engine Heat Exchanger - 19th Sept 2024

Managed to get to the boat and rig up circulating pump and Rydlyme the port engine heat exchanger and replaced the top and bottom gaskets together with a new pencil anode. Ran the Rydlyme for two hours cleaned all of the scale out and worked a treat.

Good afternoons work on the port heat exchanger

Quick Visit to East Cowes - 13th/15th Sept 2024

We decided to head out for a couple of days to check the drive was working OK, all seemed to operate fine however in true Greek Princess style the Heat Exchanger on the Port Engine started leaking at the top so I tried to reseal but it leaked again on the way home so clearly needs new seals.

Another Lift Out & Relaunch - Monday 9th/Thursday12th Sept 2024

Blackgang Marine attended the boat after an emergency lift out was arranged and when ashore they discovered the sheer collar had broken in the new drive, I went straight to Volvo Penta and purchased a new one which they fitted on the Tuesday and then refitted Wednesday and finally we were relaunched on Thursday first thing. It was towed round I then adjusted the shift change all working fine.

The rain set in on Thursday 5th so we headed to West Quay on the Red Jet rather than sit on the boat all day, and it was an early start on Friday 6th so we returned in the rain first thing leaving at 0700 in the morning, sea state was calm F1/2 arrived back safe as we made way on one engine after the new drive failed after just 10nm.

Yarmouth & Lymington in a day - 4th Sept 2024

With the weather closing in over the coming days we left early to go out for the day, so we got the bus into Newport and then Yarmouth and went to our favourite coffee shop PO41. Later we caught the IOW Ferry across to Lymington and had a wonder round. After a busy day out we then sat on the boat and watched the sun go down.
